This past month we counted a lot of really great member achievements, contributions, discussions & more. I have done my best to curate these into a list, that you’ll find below. I’ve also included some great reads, posts and listens that I stumbled upon in December.
In effort to grow our community and attract the best of the best, we are teaming up with Rival IQ, a Social Media Analytics Company. Help them understand marketers better, and help us understand you better! Fill out their very quick survey.

OGs Making Moves
Every week in the hangout channel, you folks share your most recent accomplishments and we all get to learn a little bit more about each other. In the spirit of the New Year, we asked for some of the accomplishments you’re most proud of in 2016.
Here are some of the kick-ass things OG’ers did in Dec ‘16:
@eyal created a cross-talent partnership called DigitalFounder which enabled him to transition from full-time freelance work to full-time MVP creation. Peep game.
@kelso was on fire! He re-designed redstamp.co & had 5x growth, launched chime.io, launched the alpha pilot.io, & started a new philanthropy effort (to name a few). He also plans to run for The White House in 2020.
@michaelbuckbee runs SendCheckIt, a piece of software that saves you the embarrassment of goofing up the newsletter in front of 5000+ OG member via email. Yes, I need this software. He also does a lot for us OG’ers, behind the scenes : )
@dinesh is shipping gold again, this time RecurPost, a free social media management tool to help you schedule recurring evergreen content.
@andrewculver was approved for a mortgage, and closed on a house in LA. As he went on to explain, being self employed and trying to buy a house – not easy! See him for tips!
@steffanhernandz saved a bunch of money on his car insurance by switching to Geico. Hey Steffan, 2008 called and they want their cheap laughs back.
@mattcoco launched his first piece of SaaS! If you are a podcaster, or intend to start your own podcast, check this out.
@mkuz and Talkspace continue to take the online therapy space by storm, putting up records numbers last year. Whoop whoop!
@jebstone launched a flights & hotels metasearch site with deals and travel advice. If you have any idea what that means, have a look.
@peterd is organizing an Online Marketing Marathon, which is basically a series of webinars about marketing. Learn about latest trends, hear from industry experts, and leave with all kinds of actionable information.
If I missed anyone, I am sorry. The volume of requests, and then wading through said requests is madness!!
If you folks want to appear above, share your accomplishments with us every Friday. Note the format above. The easier you make it for me to figure out why you are awesome, the more likely it is that you’ll find yourself here.
Each month I try to bring you my favorite articles, books and casts. I am a total information glutton. More inputs than I could possibly action in my lifetime. I don’t recommend this, but it sure makes recommending good reading/listening easy!
I am committed to devouring 2-4 books each month, and reporting back on which made an impact. I will also list books that are absolute essentials. Here’s what I have recently:
